Our History

Originally established as the Tuscaloosa Human Resource Professionals (THRP), the chapter later became West Alabama SHRM (WASHRM) to better reflect its regional membership and mission. Today, WASHRM continues to serve HR professionals across West Alabama by providing educational opportunities, professional networking, leadership development, and resources that support workplace excellence.

BRITTNEY FANNIN

WASHRM President

HR Manager | Prewett Pest Control

Brittney currently serves as President of WASHRM after previously serving on the Leadership Workshop Committee and the Board of Directors. In her leadership role, she is committed to advancing the chapter’s mission and supporting the growth and development of HR professionals throughout West Alabama.

Professionally, Brittney has worked in Human Resources for 15 years, specializing in recruiting, talent acquisition, and human resources management. She currently serves as HR Manager for Prewett Pest Control, where she oversees all aspects of Human Resources while supporting the company’s culture, values, and employee development initiatives.

BRUCE HENDERSON

WASHRM Past President

Attorney | Phelps, Jenkins, Gibson & Fowler, L.L.P.

Bruce served as WASHRM President in 2025 and continues to support the chapter as Past President and Conference Committee Chair. In his conference leadership role, he oversees the planning and coordination of WASHRM’s annual conference, working with board members, sponsors, and speakers to deliver a valuable professional development experience for attendees.

Professionally, Bruce is an attorney with Phelps, Jenkins, Gibson & Fowler, LLP, where he specializes in employment and labor law. A nationally recognized labor and employment attorney with more than 35 years of experience representing employers, Bruce advises organizations on workplace compliance, employee relations, labor disputes, and litigation prevention.

IRVIN MCINTYRE

VP, Membership

Senior HR Officer, Recruitment & Employee Relations | City of Tuscaloosa

As Vice President of Membership, Irvin leads the chapter’s membership efforts, including recruitment, retention, and member engagement initiatives. He serves as the primary point of contact for prospective members and works to ensure WASHRM continues to provide meaningful value and opportunities for HR professionals across the region.

Professionally, Irvin serves as the Senior HR Officer for Recruitment and Employee Relations with the City of Tuscaloosa. In this role, he leads recruitment and onboarding efforts, manages employee relations matters, and partners with departments to attract and retain a talented workforce. A former WASHRM President, he remains committed to supporting the growth and success of the West Alabama HR community.

TRINITA GRAYSON

VP, Programs

Senior HR Manager | ARD Logistics

As Vice President of Programs, Trinita oversees the planning and coordination of WASHRM’s professional development programming. She works closely with chapter leadership to provide opportunities that support the growth and success of HR professionals throughout West Alabama.

Professionally, Trinita has more than 20 years of experience helping organizations and leaders navigate change, challenges, and human resources strategy. Her experience includes recruitment and onboarding, payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, conflict resolution, policy development, investigations, training and development, and employment law. She currently serves as Senior HR Manager for ARD Logistics and is committed to creating inclusive, people-centered workplaces that support employee growth and organizational success.

BROOKE GRIESBACH

VP, Communications

HR Manager | gChem

As Vice President of Communications, Brooke is responsible for chapter communications, social media updates, and helping members stay informed and connected to everything happening within WASHRM. After previously serving as Secretary, she stepped into the communications role to support member engagement and promote chapter initiatives throughout the year.

Professionally, Brooke serves as HR Manager with gChem and brings years of experience supporting people and workplace success. She earned her SHRM certification in 2022 and joined WASHRM in 2024 to expand her professional network and continue growing within the HR profession.

MEGHAN MEEKS

Secretary

HR Generalist | Bryant Bank

As Secretary, Meghan is responsible for maintaining chapter records, meeting minutes, and board documentation that support the effective operation of WASHRM. Her attention to detail and organizational skills help ensure the chapter’s activities and records remain accurate and well-managed.

Professionally, Meghan is a Human Resources professional with 10 years of experience. She began her career with Chick-fil-A before transitioning into banking and currently serves as an HR Generalist with Bryant Bank. Meghan earned her SHRM-SCP certification in 2025 and is passionate about developing leaders, strengthening employee engagement, and supporting positive workplace cultures.

CARRIE CAMERON

Treasurer

HR Manager | City of Northport

As Treasurer, Carrie oversees the chapter’s financial affairs and works to ensure chapter resources are managed responsibly. She supports the board by maintaining accurate financial records and helping ensure the chapter remains financially positioned to serve its members and fulfill its mission.

Professionally, Carrie has more than 13 years of Human Resources experience with the City of Northport, where she currently serves as HR Manager responsible for payroll and benefits administration. She has been a member of WASHRM for many years and enjoys connecting with fellow HR professionals while continuing to learn and grow within the profession.

Allison Mays

Government Affairs Committee Lead

Assistant Superintendent of HR | Tuscaloosa County Schools

As WASHRM’s Government Affairs & Legislative Committee Chair, Allison monitors federal, state, and local legislative developments that impact the HR profession. She provides updates on employment-related policy changes, serves as a liaison with the Alabama SHRM State Council, and helps keep chapter members informed on issues affecting today’s workplace.

Professionally, Allison is the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for the Tuscaloosa County School System. A veteran educator and attorney, she has served in numerous leadership roles throughout her career, including principal, assistant principal, teacher, and HR leader. She holds five degrees from The University of Alabama, including a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and a Juris Doctorate.

Greta Wages

College Relations Committee Lead

Senior Clinical Instructor | University of Alabama

As WASHRM’s College Relations Committee Chair, Greta helps strengthen connections between students, local colleges, and the HR profession. She promotes student engagement, scholarship opportunities, internships, and professional networking while supporting the development of future HR leaders throughout West Alabama.

Professionally, Greta is a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Department of Management at The University of Alabama. She teaches Human Resources courses covering Compensation and Performance Reviews, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Strategic Human Resources, and related topics. A native Alabamian and proud University of Alabama graduate, she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of HR professionals.

April Jones

Ambassadors Committee Lead

Director of HR | Five Horizons Health Services

As WASHRM’s Ambassadors Committee Chair, April focuses on creating a welcoming and engaging experience for members and guests. She coordinates hospitality efforts at chapter meetings, welcomes first-time attendees, and helps connect new members with seasoned HR professionals to foster meaningful relationships and long-term engagement within the chapter.

Professionally, April serves as Director of Human Resources for Five Horizons Health Services, where she oversees HR operations for more than 200 employees across seven clinical sites in Alabama and Mississippi. Prior to joining Five Horizons, she completed more than 20 years of federal service with the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center, serving in leadership roles across Medical Media, Employee Innovations, Public Relations, and Administration.

Timothy Langford

IT/Webmaster

HR Officer, Workforce Development & Performance | City of Tuscaloosa

As WASHRM’s IT/Webmaster, Timothy supports the chapter’s technology and digital operations, including website management, online registration systems, web content, sponsorship and payment processes, and other behind-the-scenes technology functions that help support member engagement and chapter operations.

Professionally, Timothy is an HR and workforce development professional with more than 10 years of experience in training design, learning management systems, and performance initiatives across healthcare, government, and higher education. In his role with the City of Tuscaloosa, he leads workforce development and employee training initiatives focused on enhancing performance, engagement, and professional growth.
